WINES OF THE WEEK
FONDUE FEBRUARY WINES
Domaine de Grisy Bourgogne Blanc 2016
100% Chardonnay from Burgundy, all stainless-steel fermentation. Bright aromas of pear and apple that translate to a light, refreshing palate. Great minerality, beautiful wine.
Les Hauts de Valcombe Ventoux Rouge 2015
This is delicious! A classic combo of Grenache and Syrah, while still retaining the ripeness of fruit and secondary flavors and aromas that make this wine so distinctive. A true bargain. This is about the best you can do for under $20
False Bay Chenin Blanc 2017
Wild yeast fermentation is key to this benchmark Chenin Blanc. The long wild yeast ferment provides bready aromas and additional complexity to the wine. Dried herbaceous notes, including fennel and aniseed from the nearby fynbos, that dominate the nose, followed by a creamy lemon character. The palate is reminiscent of the nose, with great textural complexity, attributable to the long, slow wild yeast fermentation.
