Return Policy

Return & Substitution Policy

In-Store Returns

  • 100% Hassle Free Returns within 30 days.
  • With a receipt: cash or credit card return.
  • Without a receipt: store credit only, no exceptions.
  • Wine must be in the bottle. Food must be in the package.

Online Returns:

  • Cheese Traders guarantees freshness and 100% quality of all products.  We issue refunds and accept returns if a product arrives damaged or perished. You must notify us within 3 days from package delivery.

Return Policy for Cancelled Orders 

  • If an order is cancelled before it is shipped, the order will be refunded minus a $5 restocking fee.
  • An order cannot be cancelled once it has been shipped. If you decide to cancel after shipment, our standard shipping return policy applies.
  • If a package is returned to Cheese & Wine Traders due to an incorrect address or wish to cancel, the customer (sender) will be refunded the cost of the order minus the FedEx returned package fee ($25).
  • Once an order is placed for pick up, it cannot be canceled. If a customer wishes to cancel an order, a $5 restocking fee will occur.

Return Policy for Perishable Items & Damaged Goods

  • As many of our packages include perishable items please review your package upon arrival and notify us within 3 days of delivery if there are any issues. We would be happy to offer a refund for the damaged product or send you a replacement as soon as possible. 
  • We do our best to refund & exchange any products that are damaged or spoiled in transit. However, we can not guarantee refunds and exchanges under the following circumstances:
    • Delayment in delivery due to an address change after the shipment has been sent out. 
    • Packages delivered to the wrong address. Please be sure to include apartment suite or floor numbers, as needed. 
    • Package received but contents not refrigerated within 24 hours allowing for unnecessary spoilage (all boxes are clearly marked "Perishable").
    • Delayed deliveries due to weather, “Acts of God”,  or FedEx operating schedules. 

Substitution Policy 

For a variety of reasons, we will occasionally run out of a specific item. While this situation does not occur often, we reserve the right to substitute an item of equal or greater value in our product. 

Coupon Policy 

Any coupons or promotional pricing listed online are valid for online orders only and cannot be used at our retail location, unless otherwise noted. Any coupons or promotional prices listed in-store are valid for in-store only orders only and cannot be used online, unless otherwise noted. Coupons cannot be combined with other offers, promotions, or discounts. 

Gift Cards:

At this time there are two forms of gift cards available for purchase. In Store Only Gift Cards & Online Gift Cards. These Gift Cards are not interchangeable or refundable and cannot be switched to an alternative form after purchase. 

In Store Only Gift cards are delivered by USPS and can be used in our store (South Burlington, VT). USPS times vary and if you believe your gift card may have gotten lost in transit, please contact Cheese & Wine Traders immediately. In-Store Only Gift Cards are not able to be used on our website.

Online Only Gift cards are delivered by email with a unique code to be used on our website. Online only Gift Cards and not able to be used in our store in South Burlington, VT.
