Wines of the Week!
2015 Prodigo Nero D'Avola
This is a taught, sleek number from Sicily. Aromas of ripe, dark-skinned fruit and a whiff of exotic spice lead the nose on this straightforward red. The medium-bodied palate offers fig, a touch of vanilla, black cherry and star anise. The finish is dusty, with moderate tannins that leave a welcome, tongue-drying finish. Perfect with brisket, ribs or a rack of lamb!
2011 Lamadrid Single Vineyard
This is powerfully built Reserva Malbec with intense aromas of mint, spice and blackberry. Wonderfully balanced with polished, dense fruit and precise structure. Sweet tannins grace a long persistent finish. Single-estate grown grapes, handpicked, meticulous winemaking! Exceptional Malbec.
2012 Zuccardi Q Chardonnay
Yellow color with green hues, the Zuccardi Q starts with aromas of white fruits- peaches, pears and apples. Lush and fresh in the mouth with an attractive mineral character, followed by a vibrant evolution of orange and apricot with a touch of toast. Tremendous mouthfeel, and lingering finish. Oak and butter place you squarely in Sonoma, but this is Argentinian Chardonnay, and a very good one.
