Enderle & Moll ‘Weiß & Grau’ 2018
It's orange wine! A blend of Weißburgunder and Grauburgunder (Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris to you and me) from the Baden region of Germany. Sven Enderle and Florian Moll have gone against the grain, with their entirely organic production of old-vine wines in a region that is stuck in the past. Weiß & Grau is fermented for 3-4 weeks on its skins, before spending 10 months in a large oak cask. Think bright notes of tart yellow apples, dried nectarines, and Marcona almonds. A stunningly textural and defined amber-colored wine that’s perfect for lighter fare, or as a sipper with cheeses and dried fruit for these increasingly chilly days.
