With springtime in full bloom, we could not pick a more delightful wine to pair with this beautiful season. The weather is warming up, the flowers are exploding and there needs to be rosé in your glass! The 2018 iteration of Amplify’s rosé, “Four on the Flor” (previously known as “Pink Flag”) is an homage to both its process (aging under flor) and their love of house and disco. As they have refined the approach and gained a better understanding of what makes this site/variety/wine tick, we feel its spirit now owes more to the throb, sensuality, and dirty funk of these genres than the jagged edge of punk. 50% aged under flor (actually slightly more than that this year), 50% topped-up, it possesses the salty, nutty, mineral intensity of flor-aged wine (Sherry, Vin Jaune) married to the tropical exuberance of traditional Provencal rosé. This wine has really come into its own within the greater context of our lineup, and we love where it lands at the nexus of brain and body. 100% Counoise
Biological aging: 50% aged under flor, the balance regularly topped Barrel aging: 100% neutral French oak, aged 4 months on undisturbed lees Additions: None at crush or in the barrel. 20 ppm SO2 solely at bottling. Cheers!
