South Italy Wines
(Italian Wines just waiting to be rediscovered)!
Cantele Salice Salentino Riserva 2014
Intense and concentrated wine with prune, raisin and blackberry jelly. Aromas of candied fruits and spices evolve into clean underbrush, tea and red flowers. The wine is hearty and dense with sweet flavors on the finish that are interwoven tightly with equally savory characteristics. Despite those big bones, Cantele ultimately offers good balance and a very clean and correct drinking style. It's a great value, too!

Colli Della Murgia Tufjano Fiano 2016
Crystalline, straw yellow with greenish reflections that let glimpse golden shades that evolve over time. Intense and complex. The nose has fruity notes of exotic fruit: mango, litchi and passion fruit, but also yellow peach, apricot and a very delicate pink grapefruit; wide the fan of floral notes, with the Mediterranean stain in great evidence. Thyme, rosemary and wildflowers win over everyone. Especially in the most advanced product, there are overflowing mineral and almost ethereal notes. In the mouth it is dry, warm and soft. A great freshness supports a surprising minerality. Its solidity helps to redesign the map of white wines from Puglia. A full bodied wine, balanced, intense and very persistent.

Cantine Colosi Terre Siciliane Rosso 2016
85% Nero d’Avola, 15% Nerello Cappuccio
The bouquet opens to slightly rustic tones of dark fruit with black olive and caper at the back. It presents pretty red fruit with simple lines and an attractive level of concentration that never feels heavy. Served slightly chilled, it could work as a pairing partner to grilled tuna steaks. This Rosso offers terrific value.
