WINES OF THE WEEK
LE TOUR DE FRANCE!
Domaine Thévenet et Fils, Mâcon-Pierreclos Blanc 2017
This is an uber clean, crispy and crushable Macon Blanc from one of the most reliable sources that the region has to offer. It is a blend of Chardonnay sourced from four different vineyard sites. The vines are an average of 45 years in age. This contributes to the wine's concentrated mineral content. It is fermented and aged in a tank, avoiding any contact with new oak. And the end result is delicious.
Château Cambon Beaujolais 2018
From vineyards located between Morgon and Fleurie, this is an unfiltered, unchaptalized, unfined, unsulphured wine that is a pure expression of Gamay fruit. Behind its deep red-purple color, this wine presents inviting and complex aromas of cherry-like fruit with earthy notes. A touch rustic, the palate is fresh and juicy, with red cherry fruit enhanced by a great acidity.
Jean Perrier et Fils Vin de Savoie Apremont Cuvée Gastronomie 2018
90 points Wine Spectator
Fresh and pure, with light pear, chamomile and citrus peel notes streaming through, backed by a light quinine echo. Drink now through 2021.
