WOW- WINES OF THE WEEK 4/16-4/22!
Oregon in April
ORE. in APR.
3 Degrees Pinot Noir 2014
Intriguing notes of fresh earth, oak leaves and pepper are woven together in the initial impression. Lifted, verdant tannins give this wine a firm structure for the vintage to showcase its characteristic spiciness. A vibrant and snappy Pinot that will shine and refresh when paired with curries, spezzatino, and rich stews.
Coeur de Terre Pinot Gris 2016
Between racy acidity and depth of fruit that dances on the palate, this Pinot Gris hits the mark with hints of grapefruit rind, peach pit, honeydew melon and orange blossom on the nose. The initial attack on the palate shows its playfulness, with hints of clementine, peach flesh and passport melon. This wine will be great out on the deck on a hot summer day, with a simple summer salad, or paired with a lemon infused roasted chicken.
Anne Amie Amrita Cuvée 2016
35% Riesling, 28% Pinot Blanc, 13.5% Müller-Thurgau, 12.6 Viognier, 7.2% Gewürztraminer, 3.7% Chardonnay
The name Amrita comes from the Buddhist equivalent of ambrosia, or a wine of the gods. Our Amrita is a unique inspiration each harvest, crafted from different varieties to be an irresistible, lightly effervescent, fruit-forward wine. It makes a delightful aperitif and is our favorite match with Pan-Asian foods. Aromas of red raspberry, pie cherry, strawberries and cream, baking spice, blood orange. The pallet has Oregon strawberries, black pepper and cherry pie. Pairs well with grilled shrimp, hard cheeses, salami, bacon wrapped dates, chèvre, and with friends on a beautiful spring day!
