WOW Wines of the Week | 11/26-12/2!

Marcel LaPierre Raisins Gaulois 2017
This cuvee takes the Vin de France appellation, because the Beaujolais' governing body decided to do away with the Vin de Pays designation in Beaujolais, leaving only the appellations and Vin de France. The wine is still almost all from the cru of Morgon, with a little bit of A.O.C. Beaujolais as well. No Sulfur added during fermentation. Bottled just after a winter settling (in screw cap, no less!), this wine is pure, unadulterated pleasure. If you've got a crowd (and two is a crowd in this case), one bottle won't be enough.

Union Sacre Gëwurtztraminer 2017
Gewürztraminer has purple skin, which imparts a slight pink color to the finished wine. Peach blossom, Anjou pear, fresh snowfall, lime sorbet, distant sage.

Pike Road Pinot Noir 2015
Rich concentrated and elegant take on this classic Willamette Valley wine. Barrels from each of the single vineyard sites are selected for this blend. The 2015 is the color of garnet with aromas of dark cherry, baking spice, violets and savory notes that entice. The palate offers more pie cherry forming a juicy core alongside hints of leather. Firm tannins dance around to give a long finish.
