WINES OF THE WEEK
WINES FOR THE FEAST
Albert Bichot Mâcon-Villages 2016
The nose is fragrant with beautiful floral notes (acacia and honeysuckle) against a slightly mineral background. The palate is lively, fruity and floral with a refreshing finish. The apricot flavors are spot on. With a meal, this white Mâcon is the perfect match for shellfish, seafood and white meats in cream, or full-flavored cheeses.
Domaine de la Prébende Beaujolais 2017
The wine shows off a bright black-cherry nose and possesses classic Beaujolais finesse with profound minerality and a crisp texture. With its light tannins and intense acidity, it is juicy, ripe and ready to drink. This wine is a true expression of the region and is a must-try for any Beaujolais drinker.
Pike Road Pinot Gris 2017
From Elk Cove's sister label, this incorporates a fair amount of estate fruit, and it's very well made for its everyday price. Deliciously fruity and vibrant, it's packed with apple, pear, nectarine and snappy grapefruit flavors. Drink over the next year or two, while it's at its freshest.
