IBERIAN INCREDIBLES II
Fantastic find! Simply stated as one of the "Best quality per price wines worldwide," by Wine Spectator!
The magazine also ranks this wine as "Top Value" from Portugal. It is a rich and tasty cut of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca, made from grapes of the mythical Vineyard Valley Vilariça, belonging to famous Symington family in Douro. Medium-bodied, black cherry flavors with a hint of pepper and minerality. Easy to drink, easy to pair and at an amazing price!
Casa Ferreirinha Esteva Planalto Branco
89 Points Wine Spectator
Casa Ferreirinha Planalto Branco is a white blend of indigenous grapes. Brilliant lemony-yellow in color, with intense and complex floral aromas (orange blossom), tropical fruits (pineapple and passion fruit), along with apples, pears and citrus fruits. The palate is lush and spicy with hints of minerality and buttery notes. A long, rich and at the same time delicate finish. Great with salads, seafood or served as an aperitif.
Another great Portuguese value.
La Cartuja Priorat
90 Points Stephen Tanzer International Wine Cellar
(70% Garnacha and 30 % Carinena, aged for eight months in used French Oak) "Opaque ruby, blackberry, smoky minerals and a floral note on the nose. Dark berry flavors show very good depth and pick up biter cherry and licorice nuances with air. Finishes with sweet, gentle tannins, spicy persistance and nervy cut. This wine delivers very good value for a Priorat," Robert Parker.
We agree! La Cartuja is an under $20.00, perennial 90 pointer- truly unheard of for wines from Priorat. Made to drink young.Perfect now thru 2018.
It is our pleasure to announce...
