Wines of the Week 7/24-7/30!
Les Lauzeraies - Tavel
(Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan, Cinsault, Clairette, Picpoul and Bourboulenc)"Rosés from the Southern Rhône offer a marked contrast to their cousins from Provence. Typically deeper in color and fuller in body, Rhône rosés, led by the Tavel appellation, offer the stuffing to match with grilled summer fare while still keeping a refreshing personality." Ruby red in color with topaz tints. Red fruits (raspberry and cherry) powerful - flinty - long spicy finish."
Mont Gravet - Côtes De Gascogne
100% Colombard harvested at night results in an aromatic, fresh wine packed with aromas and flavors of citrus, stone, tree and tropical fruits supported by blackcurrant leaf and underlying minerality.
Domaine De Fenouillet Ventoux
A blend of Grenache (75%), Syrah, and Carignan, casts a translucent purple ruby robe followed by aromas of Provençal cherries, smoked game, bay leaf, and arid, stony terroir. Chewy and substantial, the wine stains the palate with deep expressions of black cherry and brambly blackberry fruit accented by suggestions of bitter orange peel, herbal garrigue, cinnamon, and cloves. Fine tannins frame the wine's dense but fresh fruit expressions and segue the Ventoux to a long, spicy, and herbal finish. This is a superb and smartly priced wine.
