WINES OF THE WEEK
NEW SALE WINES!
Laurent Miquel ‘Solas’ Pinot Noir Réserve 2019
A Pinot Noir from much further south in France than usual, this is a well-balanced, food-friendly wine with medium body and light, bright berry flavors. Smooth on the palate with aromas of garrigue strawberries, rosemary, and hints of Indian spiced tea on the finish.
Summerland Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
This Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon has pleasing notes of blackberry, black currant, and a hint of the forest floor. On the palate, the wine gives into a structured dance of red fruit with a structured body and tannin that rises with the finish. This wine will pair well with grilled meats to medium and hard cheeses.
Boyal Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
This Cab from Spain is produced by Bodegas Albero, a family-owned winery specializing in producing modern fine wine coming from organically farmed grapes. It shows black cherry and black currant aromas with a hint of earthiness and truffle notes. These are joined on the palate by blueberry and espresso carried on its full body. Good length and well-integrated tannins finish this solid red. It loves pairing with beef and blue cheese…a burger made in heaven?
Laurent Miquel Auzines Albariño 2018
Château Auzines is nestled on a plateau at 350m altitude in the region of Corbières in Southern France, close to the Spanish border. Warm, sunny days and chilly nights give this Albariño character coupled with gorgeous white fruit and a crisp apple rush on the attack. Savory, mouthwatering, and ideal for tart cheeses or oysters.
Vinosia Irpinia Rosato d’Aglianico 2018
This rosé of Aglianico hails from Irpinia which Italians call the green heart of Campania. The terroir is hilly, mainly of volcanic origin, but also clayey-calcareous. This wine has the power of white wine in terms of the fragrance of perfume, and red wine in terms of richness and structure. A summer food pairing wine at its best.
Michel-Schlumberger Benchland Wine Estate Pinot Noir Dry Creek Valley 2018
As 100% estate-produced wine, each bottle speaks to the distinct soil, climate, and topography of their sustainably farmed property, on the hillsides west of Dry Creek Valley of California.
