ITALIAN WINES!
Sfera Rosso 1L
Varietal: Uva Rara (30%), Barbera (30%), Croatina (10%), Pinot Nero (10%), Riesling (15%)
Region/Appellation: Casteggio, Lombardy, Italy
Tasting Notes: A kitchen-sink blend of organic red and white grapes that are co-fermented and treated to 8 days of skin contact before being bottled unfiltered and unfined. A chillable Italian glou glou, that is great for summer.
Pairing: Grilled Meat, Pizza
$17.99
Alice Tajad Frizzante NV
Varietal: Boschera, Verdiso, Glera
Region/Appellation: Veneto, Italy
Tasting Notes: This wine is Cinzia’s homage to her grandfather, who made a similar blend of Verdiso, Boschera, and Glera into a still wine that her grandmother, Alice, served in their osteria. Notes of honeysuckle, yuzu citrus, and wet river stones on the nose, with minerality, zesty grapefruit, a touch of lemon meringue, and an unexpected spiciness on the palate.
Pairing: Shellfish, vegetarian fare, or just on its own with cured meat.
$15.99
Sfera Bianco 1L
Varietal: Cortese di Gavi
Region/Appellation: Capriata d’Orba, Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy
Tasting Notes: 30 days of fermentation, and after the direct press the wine spends 1 night on the skins and afterward on lees for a few months with occasional batonnage. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Crisp lime with a bracing acidity lingers into apple peach and honeydew flavors.
Pairing: Grilled prawns, pesto anything, and creamy pasta dishes.
$17.99
