WINES OF THE WEEK
ITALIAN WINES!
Vino Frizzante Glera Bisson 2019
Varietal: Glera
Region/Appellation: Veneto, Italy
Tasting Notes: Bisson's dry sparkler from the heart of the Prosecco region in Italy is finely balanced, with green apple and floral aromas dominating the complex, heady mix. Vintage dated unlike most Proseccos, this is bottled early to maintain its freshness and is released in early March of the year following the harvest.
Pairing: Light salads, youthful cheeses, and salty, smoked fish. We like it for brunch, or really just whenever.
$17.99
Bottega Vinaia Pinot Grigio 2019
Varietal: Pinot Grigio
Region/Appellation: Trentino, Italy
Tasting Notes: Alluring floral perfume of intensity and persistence rare in a Pinot Grigio. Fresh, dry, and flavorful with a firm structure leading into a lingering finish, it displays character and finesse. Aromas of green apple and with a hint of Meyer lemon. Crisp acidity lifts the fruity flavors.
Pairing: Pasta in cream sauces, risottos, veal, chicken, and fresh seafood.
$14.99
Nuraghe Crabioni Cannonau 2017
Varietal: Cannonau, Grenache
Region/Appellation: Cannonau di Sardegna, Sardinia, Italy
Tasting Notes: Ruby red color. Intense with sweet notes of ripe red fruit reminiscent of Maraschino cherries under spirits; lightly spiced. Powerful and warm wine that is soft and intense in the mouth with persistent aromas; balanced with developed structure and nuanced layers that can be attributed to its rich terroir.
Pairing: Tuna or swordfish, mackerel, sardines, and anchovies.
$16.99
