Varietal: 90% Sangiovese and 10% Mammolo
Region/Appellation: Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy
Tasting Notes: Brilliant ruby red, with a fresh fruity and floral bouquet of iris, violets, plums, blueberries, Briar rose and brushwood, confirmed on the consistent, fragrant palate, rich in pure Sangiovese character.
Pairing: Tuscan Pecorino or cured meats. It also loves rich pasta dishes, tomato sauces, rich meaty stews, and mushroom sauces.
Fontana Candida Frascati 2019
Varietal: 60% Malvasia Bianca di Candia, 30% Trebbiano Toscano and 10% Malvasia del Lazio.
Region/Appellation: Frascati, Lazio, Italy
Tasting Notes: Pale straw in color with a delicate fragrance of wildflowers and golden delicious apples. Dry, soft, and fruit-forward on the palate with notes of peach and almonds.
Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif or with salads, pasta, veal, chicken, and seafood.
Portelli Vittoria Calabrese 2018
Varietal: Calabrese (Nero d’Avola)
Region/Appellation: Vittoria Calabrese, Sicily
Tasting Notes: Despite the baking climate of this region, this traditional Nero d’Avola retains its elegant balance of acidity and soft but palate-coating notes of blackberry and cherry.
Pairing: Calabrese sausages (duh) but also luscious tomato sauces with capers and olives poured over tuna or swordfish steaks or tossed with pasta and anchovies.
