Dr. H. Thanisch Riesling Spätlese Trocken 2015
This is a late harvest Riesling from the Bernkasteler region of Germany. On the nose, there is creamy lime with a hint of rosehip, roasted hazelnuts, and aromas of yellow fruit, and a lively crispness that make this wine a memorable experience. Perfect with sushi, oysters, grilled fish, and poultry.
Shannon Ridge 'Buck Shack' Red Wine 2017
Named for the hunting cabin on their property, this red blend from California is primarily made up of Syrah and Petite Sirah which provide a juicy, yet structured base. Small amounts of Merlot adds a fleshy mid-palate. Cab Franc adds the aromatics and tannin, and finally Barbera for a touch of acidity and balance.
St. Pauls ‘Gfill’ Sauvignon Blanc 2017
This Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of the most alpine regions of Northern Italy, Alto Adige. Aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, aromatic herb, and a touch of grilled bell pepper leap from the glass. On the tangy palate, fresh acidity accompanies juicy grapefruit, white peach, and stony minerality.
DouROSA Douro Red Wine 2015
This Portuguese Red Blend is an easy-drinking wine that can be chilled down for lighter fare, or served at room temperature for heavier proteins and stews. Plenty of cherry and cassis on the nose; cedar on the palate with mouthwatering acidity and medium-grained tannins that linger into the mineral-edged finish.
Sean Thackrey ‘Pleiades’ XXVI
92 points Wine Enthusiast
This edition of the Pleiades features an unlikely blend of old vine Sangiovese, Viognier, Pinot Noir, and Mourvèdre from California. The resulting wine is light in body, yet robust in flavor. Red cherry, violet, orange zest, and a touch of smoked meat with gentle tannins and soft-but-present acidity.
Château Les Fermenteaux Bordeaux 2015
This wine opens with a generous fruit-driven nose evoking red currant, blackberry, and cherry. The nice structure on the palate, enveloped by both red and dark fruits and leading to balanced notes of red summer berries. The finish is abrupt but underpinned by subtle, well-integrated tannins. This is a solid Bordeaux from an outstanding vintage.
