WINES OF THE WEEK
Alphonse Dolly ‘Les Doigts d’Or de Dolly’ Sauvignon Blanc 2018
From the ‘Golden Fingers of Dolly’ himself, this is a Vin de France tier Sauvignon Blanc from their estate in Sancerre. Vinified the same way, with stainless steel and battonage, this aromatic white is creamy and crisp at once. Notes of white flowers and unripe pineapple beg for the cream sauce.
Zorzal ‘Terroir Unico’ Pinot Noir Tupungato 2018
92 Points Wine Advocate
This hand-harvested, single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Gualtallary is completely un-oaked to let the fruit driven quality of the wine shine. Bright red raspberry on the nose with gamey hints, cola, dried leaves, and forest floor. The mouthfeel is rich, soft, and supple with light tannin and medium acidity.
Kloof Street Old Vine Chenin Blanc Swartland South Africa 2019
Pale straw in color, this sustainably grown, old vine South African Chenin has a nose of sun-ripened pears and wet granite. The palate has a vibrant acidity balanced by a soft, round texture and a fresh, mineral finish. Try this wine with rich savory foods like blue cheese or foie gras.
