Masseria Altemura Salento Fiano 2014
This 100% Fiano hails from Puglia, Italy, a region better known to us as the "Heel of the Boot." It is dry, medium-bodied, and crisp, revealing perfectly ripened apricots, stone minerals, and a rich texture that leads to a refreshing finish. Pair with linguini and clams, Caprese salad, or simple pasta dishes.
L'Acino 'Chora' Calabria Rosso 2017
This Calabrian red wine is made of two obscure varieties called Magliocco Canino and Guarnaccia Nera. Native yeasts, only a touch of sulfur at bottling, this is a wild but astoundingly gulpable light red. Pair with traditional dishes from the '"Toe of the Boot," like rich pasta dishes with blistered peppers, anchovies, and spicy sausage, or Eggplant Parmigiana Alla Calabrese.
Mandrarossa 'Zibibbo Secco' Terre Siciliane 2017
Muscato di Alessandria, locally known to Sicilians as Zibibbo, originally came from nearby Egypt. This wine is light straw-yellow in color, with unmistakable notes of almond, apricot, and orange blossom, and a strong mineral finish. Try this with shellfish, smoked or preserved fish, or even sushi!
