WINES OF THE WEEK
Domaine de la Terre Rouge 'Les Cotes de L’Ouest' Syrah California 2014
This Syrah has a beautiful color with rich, silky, wild raspberry fruit flavors laced with pepper, sage, tar, and olive tones. A touch of Viognier to add finesse, and 17 months in 20% new French oak. The wine has a clean purity of Syrah fruit that is reminiscent of the Northern Rhone's style of winemaking.
Giordano Lombardo Gavi San Martino 2019
Nestled just outside the medieval village of Gavi lies the 20 hectares that make up the biodynamic vineyard of indigenous Cortese vines of Giordano Lombardo. This wine fills the glass with aromas of white flowers and hints of peach. A full and rich palate that is soft and balanced.
Alois Lageder Chardonnay Alto Adige 2019
93 Points James Suckling, 90 Points Vinous
This unique expression of Chardonnay comes from a Northern Italian region that is so close to Austria, it is also known as Südtirol. Aged whole in stainless steel and concrete, this wine presents white smoke minerals, dusty florals, and zesty acidity. Salty tension and verve yet still silky.
