Wines of the Week!
2014 Eredi Vittorio Boschis Barbera D'Asti
Bright red fruit, well-balanced with natural acidity and fine tannins, this medium-bodied red is both food friendly and delicious all by itself. The Boschis Barbera D'Asti is a standout for its elegant restraint and high-toned profile that never lets its rich fruit steal the show.
2012 Schloss Saarstein Riesling Mosel
With 9.5% alcohol (meaning a fair amount of residual sugar is still present), there's ripe fruit here. The Saarstein show balance and elegance with the tension created between opulence and acidity. Enough fruit to successfully pair with- spicy Asian or Tex Mex. You can also pour a glass and sip as an aperitif. There's classic Mosel fruit and spice with a finish that is clean and crisp with hints of minerality.
2014 Domaine Mardon Gamay
Father and son winemakers Guy and Jean-Luc Mardon run the family estate of Domaine Guy Mardon on 35 hectares in the heart of Touraine. We love this Gamay! Bright fruit, spice, lighter in style but with plenty of intensity. Finishes with a bit of grit, structure and definitely shows its terroir. Great with a chill, or at room temp. This Gamay is great with food and pretty perfect at the holiday table.
