WINES OF THE WEEK
WINES FOR THE FEAST!
Georges Lignier ‘Bourgogne Passetoutgrains’ 2017
This “Passetoutgrains” is a traditional blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay from Burgundy that has the pedigree of Bourgogne, with the no-cover-charge approachability of Beaujolais. Juicy, fragrant, uncomplicated, and easy to drink!
Domaine Cheveau ‘Le Clos’ Mâcon-Chaintré 2017
This single-vineyard Chardonnay is from the southernmost village in the Mâconnais. Aged in stainless steel on the fine lees for eight months, ‘Le Clos’ is consistently marked by notes of citrus fruits (lemon, orange, grapefruit) with lively acidity, fruit blossom aromas, and excellent balance.
Thibault Liger-Belair ‘Les Deux Terres’ 2017
This is a marriage between the crus of Beaujolais and Bourgogne from the Côte d’Or, hence the name "Les Deux Terres,” The Two Lands. Black cherry and licorice, very ripe, plush flavors of black raspberry and spice. Saline minerality and a note of granite.
