On the nose there are hints of pineapple, apricot and fresh baked bread. The palate is rich and perfectly balanced with breadcrumbs, apricot and honey. This Cava is true to its "Brut," remaining clean, light and refreshing. Single estate grapes- 40% Xarello, 30% Macabeu, 30% Parellada, fermented separately then blended for the second fermentation in the bottle, aged 15 months.
2014 Clos de Nit Monstant
The Clos de Nit begins with lush aromas of plum, lavender, black cherry and a bit of balsamic. This wine is packed with ripe and complex flavors! On the palate- tons of dark, tart, rich mineral-soaked fruit. 40% Garnacha, 25% Carinena, 20% Merlot, 10% Tempranillo, 5% Cabernet - a mouthful! This classic Priorat blend has firm yet restrained tannins leading into the dry, long finish. The Montsant DO is located in the center of Catalonia encircling the renowned Priorat region. This is a "Tinto Joven," or a young wine, which means it has undergone little to no wood aging and is ready to drink!
2013 Casa Ferreirinha Esteva Tinto
The Esteva is a Portuguese red blend of 35% Tinta Roriz, 30% Tinta Barroca, 25% Touriga Franca, 10% Touriga Nacional. It is bright ruby red in color, with intense aromas of strawberry, cherry, florals and cedar. It is soft in texture, but with a solid and polished tannic backbone. There's delightful acidity that brings freshness to the Esteva and makes it a great food wine!
