THE AFICIONADO WINE OF THE WEEK
The Electric Chardonnay Acid Test 2019
This is the anti-Chardonnay, Chardonnay! A no-nonsense, organically farmed, young-vine wine that is ripe, yet sizzles with energy and acidity. And just to make sure that the wine glows, there is a small bit of Riesling added to the cuvée to turbo-charge everything. It’s rocky, minerally, and lean, but not mean - there is a suppleness to the golden apple and pear fruit that makes it extremely interesting and food-friendly. Crisp, with lovely minerality, alongside stone fruit that gives it depth and allows it to play nice with a lot of foods!
