WINES OF THE WEEK
Domaine Carrel Vin De Savoie Mondeuse 2018
The Mondeuse produces a crimson red wine. It offers delicate aromas of red fruits (strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry) mixed with spicy notes. Supple and generous in the mouth with a hint of violets. This wine will seduce when paired with red meat (game) and also Savoy cheeses such as Tomme or Savoy Gruyere.
Domaine Houchart Rosé 2020
A beautiful example of rosé from the Côtes de Provence, this wine is from Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and the lesser-found Tibouren grape varietal. Atypically deep in color, this wine features herbs, cherries, and raspberries on the nose and a plump texture in the mouth. A clean and easy quaffer alone or with a ton of grilled veggies.
Idlewild ‘The Bee’ White 2019
Roughly 56% Arneis, 42% Muscat Canelli and 2% Cortese from the steep hillsides of Lost Hills Ranch in Mendocino Yorkville Highlands, where the vines thrive on fractured sandstone and schist. Honey, wildflowers, wet stone, salt air, Jasmine, and orange blossom notes, with a richness through the mid-palate, and a racy and driving finish.
